Hello, Depression is a disgusting problem as you feel completely down and would lose the control of your inner self and thereby incapacitate you from your daily routine and professional works which makes you anxious, irritable etc. There can be a chance of getting side effects with your depression medicines. Because in Allopathy depression medicines can make you bulky, can give you sleepless nights with irritability, and dependability, and loss of taste and appetite. I would suggest you to check with your allopathic physician to taper the dose of medicine if your condition has improved and meanwhile as a supportive measure you can start with some ayurvedic medicines as well so that much of your complaints can be controlled to some extent. According to Ayurveda, we say that there is aggravation of tridoshas especially with kapha followed by vata and pitta (bodily constituents), So you should adopt necessary measures both in lifestyle and diet regimen which pacifies aggravated tridoshas. Avoid sweets rich items, fatty foods and oil. Hot and warm foods as in soups,leafy vegetables, pulpy veggies as in pumpkin, are good. Always go for evening brisk walk and avoid gym, jogging and aerobics.Its good if you practice pranayams rather than vigorous yogas if you are familiar it. Medicines like Brahmi capsules 2 tabs twice daily before food . Triphala choornam 1tsp with lukewarm water at bedtime, this will refreshes your nervous system and Triphala will do your systemic cleansing.
